The White Wax Wall was realized from an architectural investigation of standard door dimensions and a material study of wax and teased cotton. The white wax was poured over soft cotton to create a juxtaposition of textures, both tactilely and visually. Standard door dimensions make this installation appear mundane, but it’s material handling leaves viewers with a uneasy sense of transitional space, which the door represents.
